Teachers… it is almost that time of the year again. Dare I say Back-to-school season is upon us? Whether you are ready or not, it is coming soon. I know first-hand how stressful this time of year is. This blog will discuss a few tried and true ways I have decreased stress at the beginning of a new school year.
- Create a routine – I always found it best to stick to an organized schedule during the school year. Not only did this help me greatly with planning, but also helped my students know what was coming next. Those questions like, “what do we do now?” “what do I do when I’m done?” will be almost non-existent with an organized schedule.

3. Build Classroom Community and set realistic behavioral goals – Making sure your class knows expected behavior and how to appropriately and kindly work together will make the entire school year less stressful for both you and your students. Incorporating these values and skills on the first day of school is so important in order to have a less stressful back-to-school season.
