“Are we there yet?” If you are looking to avoid questions like these from your kids for hours on end, read below for ideas on how to keep your children engaged in order to calm traveling chaos with children!
Road trip “I Spy” | Scavenger Hunt: A wonderful way to pass time and keep children entertained while on a road trip is to engage in a scavenger hunt or “I Spy” game! This can include looking for things like train tracks, planes, stop signs, etc. This game is perfect for children to be focused on a goal while traveling – resulting in a calmer car ride!
Themed coloring/creative activities: Many children love to color, so bring those crayons on your trip! Kids can be creative and draw their view from their window, draw what they packed in their suitcase, a cool license plate they see, and vacation themed coloring pages!
Vacation Journal: There are endless options for a vacation journal. Not only will it help keep your child occupied, but it also serves as a fun keepsake to remember your trip by! Students can write and log about things such as the weather, favorite/least favorite parts of trip, memories, etc!
As always, you’re more than welcome to create these things on your own, but I know as you are prepping for vacation, time is very limited! Luckily, I have an entire vacation/travel journal set for children! No matter what kind of travel (plane, car, cruise, bus, train) or trip (tropical, camping, lake, general travel) this set includes everything discussed above and MUCH more to keep your children entertained while traveling!
